Hey guys i just purchased a new Ion with Egg loader and 48ci 3000PSI Pure Energy tank. I took it out for the first time yesterday and ran out of air after 250 shots is this normal? What can i do to fix it? Im going again today after i just filled up the tank, so maybe i could remedy the problem tonight. Thanks in advance.

Ya I've noticed I get maybe 500-600 shots before I need to refill my tank (48/3000), where as I use to beable to fire about 1200-1300 rounds through my 20Oz. Co2 on my A5 lol.
But 300 paintballs?
Ill look into the QEV thing

get a new bolt make sure ur tanks in all the way and make sure ur tanks full and there are no leaks

check you're macro line, the o rings on the reg, the fittings
Is your gun shooting hot? because if it is, that could be your problem. In fact most ions shoot hot out of the box.
was the tank full? where did you get it filled?
I got it filled at the PAG pro shop

You need to use a Chrony to measure the speed. All fields will have one. There's one at PAG. If you do not know how to use one, ask.
Ion's are terrible out of the box and you definately need to check for leaks. You should be getting a lot more than a couple hundred shots.

How would i identify a leak besides an obvious hiss. (which there isnt)
There really is no way. If it was a mech marker, you *could* stick it into a pail of water and look for bubbled but seeing how it's an electro, that's a big no no.
The QEVs should not drastically change your efficency. The only advantage it provides it for the ram to have a quicker return because the used air does not have to re-cycle through the ram to be vented.
I'd check your marker's settings, as well as the aformentioned suggestions.
a big one to check would be dwell
you can look for a leak on an electro with a spray bottle filled with soap or water. Be very carefull not to over apply or get over spray on the electronic pieces, Only spray the fillings and look for bubbling. NEEDLESS TO SAY be very carefull if you try this but it does work.
Dwell -im a little confused i know how to change it but should it be increased or decreased
^^^ for dwell, on my timmy I raise it by .5 then re-chrone, raise it be .5 re chrone, continue to do this untill you shot velocities even out, at this point you are going to be done setting your dwell and if your efficiency is still out (300 balls to the tank) than you probably have a bigger issue. Keep getting advice from the other ballers though and to everyone else - if I'm wrong on the dwell part let me know as this is the way I've allways set it and an easier way would be nice.
