for 500 bucks your likly to get an OLDER ego, 7/8 which comes with a small issue.
You can look around and maybe get a Bob Long Vice, or A Marq 6.

other then that, newer guns = less problems but a bit more money.

    well for Egos for example
ego 7/8s have QEV Diaphrams thats are a little peice of rubber that randomly breaks once in awhile where as 9/10/11's dont.
    Just an Example.

still doesnt mean older egos don't mow faces. and for 500 bucks you really cant go wrong with an ego 7/8

I would say a Dye or Proto gun, I haven't had any problems with them. The new Rail is well under 500 and the Reflex is just over. For a Dye you would have to get an older one like a DM 8 or something.

a dm isnt great unless you want to take really good care of it, which a lot of people dont do

    Geo!

Make sure it's got the upgrades and for the money, and how easy they are to get off pbnation for such crazy prices, they are the best gun for the money.

Go with an 08 ego. The diaphrams takes about 10 mins to replace and only needs to be done about once a year. Other than that they are easy to maintain and shoot great. I run a youth team and had five PMR's but so much problems with pmr's that we switched to ego 08's and we have not had any major problems since. The other great thing about ego's is they are pretty common around here so there is always someone around that can help if you have any problems.

My opinion is there is only 1 choice and it is a rotor.

For $500 you could get a good used:

    Marq 7
    Ego 8
    Dm8/Dm9 (DM9s go for 550ish US i think...)

    New you could get:

    Etek3 (basically an ego 7/8)
    Axe
    Proto Reflex Rail

I would go for the ego8 or PRR11.

As for loader rotor is the way to go, I love mine. But a pinokio will do fine too.

If you have the money buy a rotor they are by far the best.
