ASA is an abbreviation for Air Source Adapter. Every gun has one, it would be useless without it.

I think you might now be referring to a pressure regulator, it regulates the pressure of gas flowing through it. Some regulators are preset to psi, and some are adjustable. An ASA is where you screw your tank on.
