Kansas City statment from Edmonton Impact
Got this from PBNation...

On behalf of Edmonton Impact we believe the following issues to be the cause of the Kansas City Pro Final.
It was the understanding that a 2 for 1 penalty was issued to the Iron Men for playing on and that the Swing points were awarded causing Edmonton Impact to win game 2 according to the explanation by Head ref and Dave Zinkham . Oliver Lang and Josh Davey signed the score card at the conclusion of the decision declaring Edmonton Impact winners of the Kansas City Event.
Game 2 was reviewed again by Dave Zinkham and it was then stated to Edmonton Impact a third game must be played. I instructed my players at that time that a decision was all ready made that we had won the event and that we do not have to play this game. Edmonton Impact requested a reason for the 3 rd game to be played and were told you must play the game. The Refs instructed our players to get on the field upon that request we played the third Game.
Unfortunately that day as most witnessed with the pressures from all involved the Edmonton Impact refused to play the one on ones for not understanding the reason for overturning the call in game two. We informed the Ironmen that we not playing anymore paintball and the only other alternative was to call it a draw.
The Iron men accepted this position and it was then presented to the League and also accepted at that time by them.
Should the Ironmen of agreed to a draw probably not, should the league have agreed to a draw probably not.
There were many mistakes during the finals and confusion is the best way to explain the cause of the way Kansas City ended that Day.
It was many days of discussions that it came to light that rule 22.04 was the reason for overturning the call. Dave Zinkham made the correct call that day and that the two teams should of played the one on ones with reason stated below.
Rule 22.04 Page 25 of the NPPL Rule Book- 2 for 1 (1) Playing on- Player continues to play after a obvious hit and (materially alters of the course of the game) Game time ran out not altering the outcome of the game.
We need to learn from these unfortunate events and our only hope is that we can make this great game they call paintball that much better.
As the NPPL stated in the unfinished Business of Kansas City the one on ones will be played in San Diego to decide the Kansas City Champions of 2007.
